Oh those are some great builds! The Jug, Bearcat, Tigercat, Hustler, and B-1 all look great… All showing what a good modeler can do with these kits! Keep it up guys!
Looks great, Stick!
Here is my Monogram T-6 I have dressed up as a Harvard Mk. IIb, dressed in Partisan Yugoslav colors, circa late '44.

Ajd, is that for real?! Tito’s partisans had aircraft during the war?
Yeah, the NOVJ included air units supplied and trained by the RAF, and even had Hurricanes and Spits, if I’m not mistaking.
I never knew that… Most interesting! I am going to have to read up on this… Nice build, BTW…
Thanks! I got the decals from a Serbian company, Lift Here!, you can look them up online. Decals were really thin and took form very well with alittle setting solution.
This one came in a Revell box (but suspect it is from an old Matchbox mold?) - straight out the box, this is my take on the RAAF Sea Venom. Its 1/32 scale, the shape looks good but the cockpit and landing gear are very basic, in fact primitive.

Cool scheme there, Adj!
This thread has made me view Revell/Monogram kits in a different way. I always thought R/M models as old-fashioned and non-cutting edge. They look awesome. Did you guys scribe panel lines? I see clearly recessed panels lines on many photos.
Nice looking Aussie Sea Venom you got there, NeedBeer! Hard to believe that its probably a Matchbox repop!!!
I used to play down the RM kits but I’ve seen some amazing kits here and since then I’ve managed a few nice ones thanks to this thread’s motivation. I have a complete new respect for the RM kits now and I don’t fear trying them anymore.
Chris, most R/M kits released since the early 90s have recessed panel lines. They even went back and reworked a kit or two to rescribe them on their own. I personally rescribed a few of mine that you see here. And of course there is the debate over which represents overlapping skin panels more accurately? Raised or recessed? neither is dead bang on. And lets face it, nobody gives you more bang for the buck in 1/48 bombers than R/M. Not to mention that even their older kits were very much cutting edge in their time
NeedBeer, that Sea Venom is indeed originaly a Matchbox kit.
About 98% of my builds are R/M kits. For the money you can’t beat them. I rescribe most all of my builds. Describing is free
But with little effort the R/M kits build up really nice.
Okay, here’s one most haven’t seen yet. 1986’s AH-1S Cobra, 1/48. Although the model is nearly 20 years old, it had never been to the airport. In this case, she’s seen at Coffield Regional Airport in Rockdale, Texas last Thursday. It’s mostly an out of the box build, in Israeli markings. I did add some screen/mesh behind the vents on the sides of the turbine and I made maps that are stuffed beside the seats. Paint was Model Master enamel and Humbrol enamel, sprayed with my Paasche H. Thanks for taking a look!

Great looking Snake Gary, used to be a Snake Doc myself so its nice to see such a clean looking build of this classic airframe!
Second that, that’s a beautiful Cobra! I like the IDF colors and markings. Well done!
Thanks Trey and Baron! I’m glad you like that ol’ bird; here’s a bit more:

That is an amazing paint job!
