After posting my Stug III with winter camo’ I’ve gotten some great feed back. Thank you all for taking the time to take a look, I appericiate all the kind words and suggestions[#toast]. This winter camo’ thing is a hot topic (no pun intended)…must be all of us itchin’ to start the “Winter Warriors” group build…thanks dupes for makin’ it happen![tup]
I’ve been asked about the techniques for the Stug, specifically the camo’ and snow. The topic of a tutorial came up, “would I post one?”, was the jist of the question. I’ve never documented my build process before, but if the interest is there, I’ll give it a try!!!
Let me know if this tutorial would be helpful.
Question (mainly for dupes): If this is a go, can I get a head start on my Panther?[:D] Not sure I’ll get the time, gotta’ finish the T34 first…just throwin’ the idea out there for consideration.
I agree. Maybe you could post one here for us, and then do a more in depth one and send it to Kalmbach for publishing consideration. I think this type of thing needs to come back to the mag. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen this sort of thing in FS or SA for that matter. Mostly seems to be showcases of peoples collections and fetured builds anymore. We need more howto’s and stuff again. Alot of people coming into the hobby and people returning to the hobby right now. The essential howto stuff would be GREAT to get back around.
Can’t ever have too many tutorials or techniques described for different things! Would be of interest to many I’m sure as whitewash finishes often present the greatest challenges to many. [tup]
You know I wonder what modern U.S. Military does for winter landscapes? Or potential winter landscapes. Can’t tell me we just go out in normal colors. Perhaps Gino would know on this one. There has to be at least some kind of plan in place for potential winter landscapes with plenty of snow and little leaves.
I’m not sure about real life, and I’ve been scouring the internet unsuccessfully for some time to determine if the modern US military would whip up a winter camo scheme in the need came.
I did see in the computer game World in Conflict a whitewash over the standard green camo Abrams, and it was pretty cool looking. Realistic? I don’t know, it’s a computer game…
