Shinden J7W1 pix

Here are some pictures of my Hasegawa 1/72 Kyushu J1W7 Interceptor SHINDEN. It never actually saw combat because the war ended before the test flights could be completed.

The model is motorized and I am working on display base off an a/c carrier (that is why the tiny wire is visible) but wanted to share it with you.
Hope you enjoy it!

Very nice. I am simply amazed at the work I see here on the forums. Thanks for sharing.

Good work, I especially like the weathering.

Nice build mate. It looks a little overly weathered for an aircraft that never saw service, but the weathering does look good. Thanks for the pics.

Nice build of a rare plane. Always meant to add one to my collection, but never have. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

I get the impression that this is a Japan ’46 “what if” build…I could be wrong. But then again I prefer my aircraft a little more on the weathered side.

the a/c looks very good. great work.

That’s pretty nifty. Bet it makes an awesome breeze.

Nice work and the wear and tear looks nice, even if it really isn’t accurate for this plane. Don’t get me wrong, I like the weathering, I couldn’t do better.

Thank you tigerman, Swanny, fightnjoe, Model Grandpa, rjkplasticmod, pingtang and mkhoot.
Actually, I didn’t plan to do any weathering but the decal solution wrinkled up one of the “meatballs”. In reality, all the silver spots are a crude attempt to cover up for the wrinkled hinomaru.

And yes, the prop does makes a good breeze.

Great job on this unusual aircraft! I love it! Thanks for sharing.

That’s a nice Shinden!

What would happen if one of these tangled with an XP-55?

WOW…that is a super looking build. May have to get one myself now.
What type motor did you use for the plane?

Missile

I used a pager motor (counter weight removed with pliers) similar to this one:

They have a few other sizes pager motors.
Once you motorize your first model won’t go back to the old way.[8-]
