Sherman WIP pics

One thing that I would point out is that the tracks should not sag the way they do. Sherman tracks were much tighter.

Hi!
So would the tracks be completely tight, or just sag slightly or what? I’ve never built one before.
I’ve started making some balsa stuff now for my shop.

And I’m working on the layout some. I might need to rearrange it to take up less space.

Instead of the Panzer, maybe I will use an old Kettenkraftrad I have. I will need to rebuild it though. Also need figures- just americans looking around, and some wounded or surrendered Germans. Guess I need to get the basics hammered out first.
Thanks again for your help!

Sherman’s had live tracks. They had almost no sag at all, if any.

Here’s a thread that explains the difference.

Look for heavyarty and Crockett’s posts.

Hey, thanks Buff!
That’s really helpful and very interesting. I’ll go try and get them to come loose.
Does anyone know where I can get some corrugated styrene? They carried it at a hobby shop near here but then it closed down. I guess I’ll get it online somewhere, but I never have before so I don’t know where to get it. Thanks for your help!

I’m glad I could help. If you can’t find the sheet styrene you locally, you may have to go online. I’m not sure it would be worth the shipping just to ship a package of styrene. Sounds like a good excuse to add a few more things to the bill.[;)]
