I just got Tamiya’s 1/35 scale M4A3 sherman and Eduard’s 75MM photoeched set.

Is there suppose to be some sort of glare shield in front of the commander’s hatch that is supplied in the Eduard set? [%-)]Does that belong there for for the box art scheme?

In front of the commander’s cupola is the gunner’s periscope. It does have a metal hood over it:
