anyone know which Model Kasten or other companys tracks fit the Sherman M4 early production, or the M4A3? and what number it is. Ive noticed they have different numbers like T41 for their tracks etc but not sure which Sherman version they go to
Alright shermanfreak and shermanfirefly, we need you. I’ve seen some AFV club sherman treads in my LHS and they look pretty good. Don’t know what type of sherm though. Once sherm gets here you’l have an answer though.
i ordered a set of MK for a M4A3E2, rubber chevron type w/duckbills, thru a local store from squadron. the # for them is: RZK048
For the M4 … the most common tracks were the Rubber Chevron (T-48) or the Rubber Block (T-51).
For the M4A3 … once again the Rubber Chevron (T-48) or the Steel Chevron (T-54E1)
Model Kasten, Friulmodellismo, AFV Club and RHPS all make AM tracks for the Sherman.
But I do have to ask why, the M4 and the newer M4A3 kits from Tamiya come with an exceptional set of T-48 tracks.
Unless you have the patients of a saint, I highly recommend NOT using the MK tracks. I started my MK tracks on January 4th, and they are still not done!!! There are 9 or so pieces per link!!! NINE!!! At about 96 links per side, that makes about 864 little pieces that have to be cut, some have to be sanded, and all of them must be glued.[:0][xx(]

I agree, I have a set of AFV Club T-48s in the closet that I bought for my M4A3 but I guess I’ll save them for another (older) kit. The Tamiya tracks are excellent!
Warmonger, I hope you like PAIN!!! Good luck, and let me know if you ever get done. I give myself another 6 months before I get around to finishing my tracks. I was doing well for the first week or so. I would sit down and do like 2 hours every day. I just got sick of looking at all the pieces. Then after a couple weeks break, I decided that I would do a set of four links every night. That went sour after a couple of weeks too. LOL!!! It is just painful, there is no other way to put it.[xx(]
Does anyone know how easy the AFV Club tracks are?
MAN! I thought the DML tracks were terrible with 3! Guess I’d better stop complaining. It’s just too bad the DML’s don’t line up better!
edog, it’ll be a few weeks before i get them. the stores order hasn’t gone out yet. as for AFV trax, the T91E3s are very easy to work with. the just “snap” together. however, their double pin type can be a pain. tried them once and the end connectors wouldn’t stay on, unless their glued on but theat defeats the purpose of “workable” trax
