sherman photos

EDIT: Gentlemen, I Would like some Sherman photo assistences. M4-M4a3e8 in American service from ww2 are preferred. I am working on 6 different shermans right now and I need some inspiration. Please help.

There’s no substitute for a well stocked reference shelf. If I can make the following recommendations:

Concord Publications:
Sherman at War 1
Sherman at War 2
US Tank Battles in N Africa and Italy
US Tank Battles in France
US Tank Battles in Germany
British Tanks of WW2, France & Belgium
British Tanks of WW2, Holland & Germany
D-Day Tank Warfare

Squadron Signal:
M4 Walk Around

MMIR Guide to the Sherman (hard to find, about to be re-issued and updated about $30)

Osprey:
Several M4 volumes

Histoire & Collections:
British Tanks in Normandy

For online collections:
www.ullsteinbild.de (use keyword Sherman)
http://www.chars-francais.net/listing_m4_a.htm (French Shermans)

Or just google image “Sherman”. But don’t expect anyone to just email you 100s of digital images. That’s asking too much. Maybe peruse the Allied DG over on missing-lynx and pick up some good shots.

However, feel free to ask specific questions. For build tips, go here:

good way of asking

I did not mean to be rude. I was just trying to be brief, my appologies.[:I]

There is something I am looking for very specific. A picture of the additional armor Patton ordered installed on a sherman early’45.

Thank you folks.

are you after a photo of a M4A3E8 with added steel plate on the front and turret

Yessir… I was hoping for a real photo, if possible up close. Thank you for your effort.[:)] BTW I really want that kit!!!

In Citizen Soldier there is a pic of an E8 but is distant. I have pics of plate added to A1s but it is very different than the welded hull sherman add-ons. Any 3rd Army sherman photos late in the war might help as the orders were for all tanks. Nothing I have seems to really help me on this one. This one is a bit of a shot in the dark.

Sorry again.

theres a real photo on this site near the bottom http://www.wwiivehicles.com/usa/tanks_medium/m4_sherman_photos.html

this one

I can’t believe I missed that! I go there all the time. Thank you sir.
