Hello my fellows,
After watching the great series “Band of Brother” I’m insprited to build the mini-diorama. On the Episode 3 “Carentan” The Armor Division of Maj. Patton was rescued the Easy Co. I would like to know, Which model of those shermans? And which manufacterer made that kit in 1/35 scale? (Tamiya, DML ,etc.)
Sorry for my poor English Hope you are understand.
Thanks in advance for your kindly help.
I cannot accurately recall which model of Sherman was used in Band of Brothers other than that they had three-piece bolted transmissions. You’ll need to check out the hulls.
If the Sherman has a rounded hull, then it would be a mid-production M4A1 which Dragon has recently reissued. Although I’ve never built the kit, my understanding is that it is an excellent kit.
If the Sherman has a squared off hull, i.e. comprised of welded plates, then it would be a plain mid-production M4, of which Tamiya produces, albeit mis-named as an early-production. I have built this one and it is a decent kit. Although expensive at $38.00 US, would fill the bill reasonably well. It has a lot of extra parts so you could probably customize it to look pretty close to what was shown in Band of Brothers.
I have the tamiya kit and other than the open sponsons, it is a true work of injected steryne art.

Are you going for the tank that was actually on the show or the one that the unit historically was outfitted with? This might make a difference because they are not necessarily the same thing.
I believe the tank used in BoB was a Canadian Ram tank that was playing the part of a Sherman tank.
Indeed!! I would like to know the real thing was outfitted with? Can you inform me?
And Which kit I should buy?
Thank again
Regards,
The Shermans used by the Brit’s in BoB (and for real) are M4A2’s (try using the DML/Dragon kits) and M4A4’s. The 3 piece nose vehicles with long tube guns are called Firefly.
