I have always loved the really weathered stuff, so i had a go after not touching a kit for 10yrs.
Nothing to extreme at this point, played around with the dremel, airbrush and some pastels, just trying a few techniques have read about. I struggle to find many site devoted to “car” weathering.

somehow when i clicked around the area right of the small thumbs i got the large pictures. but wow that’s one busted up baby, but that sign in the windshield says it all.
Sorry about the size of the pics, I thought they would be bigger… however if you click just out side the picture box on the right hand side, you will get a bigger pic come up.
If you go to the url take out THB or something like that, that will make your photos fullsize instead of thumbnails! That car is a crime! Love the GT 350!
Thanks for the encouragement guy’s! Now its done and i have tried a few techniques, i look at it and think i could do every aspect a bit better next time. I’m just waiting to get some good pics of a camaro i have just finshed, i feel it is more life like.

Looks like the condition when I acquire most of my 1:1 project cars.
It’s fun to do an old backyard relic from time to time besides the usual showroom project.
What would be neat, build another one in pristine condition and put them in a body shop diorama. [;)]
Me thinks I spend as much or more time now on diorama’s as the car models. [:O]
Hi. I build aircraft, but thought I’d drop in to see what’s in this section. That is an awesome looking weathering job on the Pony. I like the side pipe sticking out in front of the rear fender in the second photo. Looks like something someone would do, someone who’d let a gem of a car get that worn down.
I had a '66 Mustang Fastback 2+2, it was by no means “show ready”, but it wasn’t quite as bad as that model depicts. I sold it to buy a minivan when we had a 3rd child, and we had a 170-lb. Great Dane. We really needed the minivan, and I’m not the mechanic I dreamt I was when I bought the car 12 years prior.
