Shady sellers

Hello, I ordered A KittHawk 1/48 voodoo 101B from seller yon-39 off eBa, I received A 1:144 F20 tiger shark minihobbymodels kit!. I have contacted eBay and hopefully got the ball rolling, when I ordered from this seller there where no negative comments there are now many Please be informed on this seller do not order from them. Hope it’s ok to post this just don’t want to see anyone else get ripped off.

I think it’s okay to warn us,but by the same token,if it is resolved in a satifactory way, then by all means, update your post to show that, because in all fairness, maybe it was a mistake.

It may be a mixup with the order. A couple of months back I ordered a model from a seller in China with 100% eBay feedback. He messed up my mailing address on the label and could not be delivered. The seller didn’t respond to any of my emails so I gave PayPal a call and got an instant refund.

Which is it? No negative comments or many comments? Not there is nothing wrong with sending a warning but it could very well be a mix up or error in your order. Who knows.

I have a habit of checking out the reviews of sellers before pulling the trigger in purchasing anything. I have one dedicated eBay seller for all my hard to find / unique models, decals, etc…

Hello, as I stated when purchased there where no negative reviews on this seller, after receiving the wrong kit I went back to the sellers site and found there were many complaints most where for exactly what I received a cheap item worth a couple of dollars or worse a empty box or envelope!. this is the first time I have posted about a seller or business as normally I received very good service but this something very different. I was just trying to be helpful as Iampretty sure I know when I have been scammed.

With the additional information you have now posted it clearly shows it’s a scam. Complaint to eBay about the scam and go directly to PayPal by calling them. When I had my issue I called eBay and got the runaround from them regarding a refund. I hung up and called PayPal and got my refund on the spot. At the end I posted negative feedback on the seller.

Ok, now I understand. How can there be no negative reviews to begin with when afterwards, there are many. It makes no sense. The reviews of the seller would have remained on site regardless.

I ordered the kit over 2 months ago as stated at that time there were no red flags about this seller, Blacksheep please disregard what I have posted to try and warn you about a shady seller, for the rest who read about my experience with this seller take from it what you may. Must say I did not think I would be trying to defend myself on this post trying bring attention to others about someon praying on modelers!.

It’s OK, Rory, your first statement seemed quite clear and understandable. You simply wanted to issue a caution about a bogus purchase, that’s appreciated and might prevent someone else from having the same problem. Never a need to defend a helpful post.

The advice to go directly to Paypal could hopefully get you a refund. Thanks for trying to help the forum members.

Yes thanks for the heads up!!

You should have no problems getting a refund.

Thanks Rory,

I understood your first post . You did fine

PJ, did you have to call Paypal? On the Paypal website it directs me back to eBay who says I have to wait for another 10 days before they decide on my issue.

yea EBAY is worthless when it comes to that. The tracking clearly showed the parcel was underivable and they still told me I had to wait 10 days! I called Paypal and the guy saw the tracking info and refunded my money on the spot.

Im away from my pc but it’s very tricky getting the PayPal phone number. It took me a while how I stumbled on it cause the “contact us” tab doesnt give a number. I think I got it before signing in at the bottom of the main page at the contact link.

Thanks, PJ, I’ll search for the number when I get home. I already had USPS investigate and they said the package was sent back to the seller. And the seller is no longer a registered eBay user. Of course eBay wants me to contact the seller to get a refund, but, I not able to contact them. This is the first time I’ve had an issue with an over seas seller. Thanks again!

Bruce

You should not have any problems getting a refund from PayPal as your problem is similar to the one I had and got the same response from EBay. Make sure you tell the PayPal guy to look at the tracking info on their screen detailing the claim.

I’m away from home till next week but went on my tablet and this is how to get the number:

go to the main page

scroll to the bottom

Click on contact

Help center pops up scroll to bottom

call us tab appears then click on there as a guest. If you sign in it takes you out and around in circles so stay as a guest

you will get a one time pass code number then follow the prompts

they make it difficult to get a human but there is always a way around the BS

PJ,

Thanks again! Paypal just ruled in my favor, and I just called them this morning. You are a life saver.

Sorry for the threadjack, Rory T

Hmmm;

I will say , I have NOT had a problem with any vendor . Now that doesn’t mean it won’t happen to me . That’s why I don’t use payPal or any other source .My Credit card company refunds at the first sign of trouble .

Glad it worked out!

Unfortunately it will eventually happen with so many scammers out there. PayPal is not the problem but ebay is. And eBay owns PayPal or the other way around. Out of over 377 transactions on Ebay about 3 were problems but got resolved in my favor thanks to Paypal cause complaining to EBay was a joke.

Funny, as soon as I opened the problem report with Paypal, eBay closed my problem report as resolved.

And this is the first time since I open my eBay account in 1999 that I had any type of problem with a seller.
