Hi All…I built this one for my brother’s birthday. He was a pilot on this baby during the Nam fiasco. He sent me a photo so I used all the marking of the one he flew. It is a 1/48 Hasegawa and with the exception of a few details it went together rather well. I think the underside should have been a lighter gray but so what. My first 1/48 chopper and I think I am now addicted. I’ll just add it in there with the coffee, cigars and beer…no problem. [4:-)
(Sorry…pics deleted due to changes on 7/16)
Looks great. I agree on the lighter color for the underside, but it still looks good. Just tell everyone it just came out of the paint shop and hasn’t faded any yet.
Good job.
Thanks Heavy…He likes it and says he could’nt care less about the color as long as he is away from it. [4:-)]
Nice looking build, paint job looks new
I’m in agreement with everyone else here, in that you did a very good job, bottom color aside. Just out of curiosity, what gray is that? If I remember correctly, it should be good ole’ FS16440 Gloss Gull Grey. I’m in the process of thinning my stash, but the sole Hase SH-3H kit will not be sold. Once again, nice job.
Chris Ish, inadvertant rotor head
Nice job on the Seaking. I’m building the Revell 1/48th myself right now and I did the same thing on the bottom. I used dark ghost gray, but oh well. Thanks for the pics, very realistic and detailed build.
That’s exactly what I used ch57guy…meaning the dark ghost gray. It should have been the light ghost grey. I had it in the 2005 West Florida Model Expo contest at Pensacola yesterday and it ended up ( at my sheer suprise) with a second place. Lots of very nice choppers there so I guess it acturally is ok. Thanks for the kind words.[4:-)]
Silly question of the day, I’m doing an SH3 (the 1/48 Hasagawa kit) aqnd would like to back date the bird to an SH3G. Is there any body out there who makes aftermarket sponsons and so forth for these kits?
Thanks
Belcher bits in Canada does!!
Or That guy in england, flightpath!
They are both good, and also give info on how to chop the tail fin.

Thanks Shark 41! Your assistance is greatly appreciated… just what I needed!
