I’ve been trying to find one of those SH-2 Seasprite interior detail sets for a LONG time!! Te last copy of a CobraCompany price list had them as “out of stock/ out of production”!! Aint THAT a kick in the back-side!! You wouldn’t happen to know how I may ‘aquire’ one, would you? Even if it should be a really decent copy of the original kit…
I opened the 1/48 Revell box for the umpteenth time since I bought it with every intention of building it. Conversion to a G would be possible but a lot of scratchbuilding around the engine “pods” and some modification of the pylon area would be required. I’m not sure of the interior modifications that would be required as I’ve only done preliminary research. Replacement of the kit’s decals would not be too difficult as most of the titles and numbers could be obtained from commercially available sheets. The challange would come from reproducing squadron markings and the artwork that adorns most F model sonobouy covers (although you can solve that problem by modelling yours with the covers removed and the tubes exposed). With today’s copier technology, it should be possible to enlarge the exhisting Superscale sheet to 1/48th
and print the needed markings on white decal paper. The “Seasprite” is an interesting aircraft and begs to be done up in 1/48.
