Seperating the spares box

…In your spares box, do you have everything thrown in one box or in seperate box’s. Like one box of 1/48 , one for 1/72 one for armor, ships, canopys, etc etc…

How do you all do it?

Pat H.

One for armor, one for everything else. Both complete messes!

All is seperated by scale and type of part i.e., tires & wheels, seats, munitions, etc.

Seperated for me too, as I often mix AM and kit parts in there.

I kept everything in one big box for years, then finally broke down and separated by category using zip-type sandwich bags. Makes it much easier to spot that part you know you’ve got, but can’t quite seem to track down.

I too kept all my spares bits in an old kit box and it eventually sprouted to several. I spent the better part of two days with a minimum of 9 hrs each day spent sorting into parts bins I found at the hardware store that were too low in price to walk away from. Everything is now sorted by Scale, Type (Figure,Armour, Air, Sea) and further broken down from there to Left or Right side (Arm,Leg, Tire etc.) and even further to Country, Time Period etc.

The best piece of advice I can give you is “Don’t ask your wife how to organize an area if you want simple results” You will “result” in something that NASA would be proud of, but has taken 18 hours of building time in the process.

Cheers;

Gregory

Everything has its own place, tires, bombs, seats ect.
