Seems

does anyone know how to get seems out on a B-36 Peacemaker

Hey blackcat,

I’m assuming you mean the seams which occur where parts meet? In that case you have to keep in mind each seam needs to potentially be treated by a different method. Close seams can be filled in with filler or super glue then sanded smooth and invisible. Larger gaps need to be filled with an expoxy, filler, or even first filled with small pieces of styrene, slowly building up the gap to meet the surface halves. Either way, filling seams takes practice and patients and as far as I am concerned is a big pain. However, kits left with seams do not look realistic.
To fill seems, you’ll need a filler, maybe the white one offered by squadron or the red testors putty, superglue, a set of files (squadron makes a good one) and a lot of time to fill gradually. Too much filler at a time won’t dry well and you’ll have to wait too long or start over. Work a little at a time, let it dry sufficiently, then touch up with paint and you’ll have a nice result.

Take care,
Tank

The seam filling process is pretty much the same, regardless of which model you are building. Dry fit the parts together first. If the gap is very small or none at all, (just a line where the two parts meet) you can put a little excess styrene glue on the joint, let it squeeze out when joined, then file and sand it down when dry. Be careful handling the model while the glue is still wet or you will smear it on the outer surface. Follow the step recommended by tankbuster for larger gaps.
