Hello All,
Have some more shots I’ve posted.
The M-4-A3 is a Tamiya straight OOB. The M-4 is composed of a Tamiya turret and lower hull from the M-4-A3 and a Verlinden resin upper hull.
Hope this works and hope you enjoy. Again all criticisms, comments and questions are welcome.
Regards,
Joe

Thanks to all for the kind comments.
tomzag / tediam,
Will try and give a rough breakdown of the “routine” I use.
Start by spraying Floquil RR colors (black, browns, yellows, greys) in streaks and blotches as an undercoat. You can use any or all colors, I don’t use any particular combination. This helps to give bite for the base coat to adhere to.
Thin the OD and spray in light coats and don’t really cover the primer coat entirely so the OD has the streak / blotchy look.
Will use a grey or tan color heavily thinned and spray either the entire model or just certain spots where dust would accumulate. Then will sometimes take a brush lightly moistened with mineral spirits and lightly brush streaks on the turret and hull sides.
Then use pastel chalk to add additional dust and streaking.
Take a short stiff brush with OD and dab most of the paint onto a paper towel then tap it on the tank where I want to show wear marks.
Hope this answers your questions. If not please feel free to ask any follow up questions.
Regards,
Joe

Thanks for sharing your Shermans, they look great!!!
Two beauts!
Excellent weathering there.
Nice Sherms Panther44. Thanks for sharing your weathering routine. It’s got some good extra steps that I don’t normally do and I may try now.
Those shermans look excellent! The weathering is very real!
Hey all,
Thanks again for the words of encouragement.
tomzag,
Floquil doea have a grey primer, but I use that in connection with any of the other colors I mentioned (boxcar red, tuscan red, tie brown, rail brown, reefer yellow, grimy black). Actually about any of reds, browns, yellows, greens, etc.
I-beam,
Hope you can use something that will give you some results tou’ll be happy with. It’s nice to maybe give back a little after receiving so much help from the folks here.
Again any futher critcism, questions or comments would be welcome.
Thanks To All,
Joe
