When I enter the requested information at “Get My Payment” I get the following response: Payment Status Not Available. Does anyone have this problem?
It seems that the above response means that I will not be getting a check or direct deposit. Instead, I will get a “credit” when I file my tax return. That stinks.
Did you receive the first payment last year? The requirements haven’t changed so if you got the first you should be receiving the second. My first payment was direct deposited but after receiving nothing for the second I checked the get my payment site and it said they were mailing me a check on Jan. 6. Why the change it didn’t say but the check finally arrived on Wednesday.
I paid $7.75 For Priority Mail 2 day service from Central Fl to St. Louis and took almost 2 weeks to get there. Thank God for the tracking number showing the delay, WTF??
We also had a credit card statement arrive 2 days after the due date!! Contacted the credit card company and the late fee was removed and told I was one of many customers reporting the same 2 day lag.
If your check is coming by mail sit and wait, it will eventually arrive.
Mine says check mailed out on Jan 6th even though the first one was sent by direct deposit almost immediately, since it’s the 22nd already,it’s probably not coming,so I guesss I will talk to my tax lady about getting me my credit.Unless it somehow shows up.
When I go to Get My Payment, there is no information regarding payment dates. All I get is “Payment Status Not Available”. Yes, I did get the first stimulus payment.
I hear that PJ. Had an eBay order sent from Ohio to Oregon. Got out to Portland and went back to Ohio and back out again. Supposed to be delivered by the 11th, and got here today. Was 2 bottles of paint.

Got you beat on this one GH lol. Last tax year I sent my Income Tax papers to my tax lady in Ft lauderdale, 4 hours driving time from Central Florida. Sent 2 Day Priority Mail with tracking. It went from Orlando, to Miami, to San Juan Puerto Rico, back to Miami then to Ft. Lauderdale, total of 5 days! This tax season I will be using Fed Ex.[*-)]
Ahoy JohnnyK. On the IRS website, the IRS says that if you got a direct deposit last year, you may get a check this year; and if you got a check last year, you may get a direct deposit this year. If they’re going to mail you either a check, or as I got last year, a prepaid debit card, it will be in the mail to you on or before January 31st. If you don’t get Stimulus 2, you can complete line 30 on your 1040 tax return. This is called the Recovery Rebate Credit. You tell them on line 30 if you didn’t get your Stimulus 1 (last year) or Stimulus 2 (early this year). The IRS looks at only the information on your 2020 tax return and they compare it to any Stimulus payment you already got (they look at SSN’s). If you didn’t get one or the other, you’ll get it as part of your 2020 tax refund. When they did the original mailings in January, they used only the information provide on your 2019 tax return. When they did the 2019 (Stimulus 1) they looked at your 2019 tax return if they had it. If they didn’t have it, they looked at your 2018 tax return. That’s a basic run-down of the situation. I think the way they determine direct deposit vs a check is that they have an old guy in the back room doing paper, rock, scissors to decide how to send it.
As Strongeagle said, some people are getting them in the form of a debit card. A friend of mine just recieved hers as such. That is a problem for her because she is disabled and can’t go out to buy things. Anyway… we are hearing that people are tossing the cards in the garbage thinking it’s junk mail. Be careful.
Both payments were direct deposits into my account. Wonder what the reasoning is for sending out checks/debit cards to those set up for direct deposit? As far as I’m aware USPS is still somewhat recovering from Christmas in some areas.
Got mine via direct deposit while people were still on the news, pointing fingers at each other for being the sole reason the payments weren’t going out. So did other people I know in Colorado. I guess some IRS regions are just more efficient than others at getting their job done.
I have to tell you this. The Stimuli arrived for me -BOTH -in the form of Direct Deposit. My Landlady not so. Her first-D.D., her second ? somewhere in probably Pocatello, Idaho’s post office-We live in Texas.
Not the stimulus, but just got a letter from IRS…still waiting on refund, but get to include $17 and change on my 2020 return for the interest on what I haven’t gotten yet. Site says still processing…
You have to have a sense of humor when dealing with them.
