Second Plane Ever Built

Hi everyone!

edited to add: clearly i meant to say that it’s a Tyhpoon not a Hurricane…<–dork

Well, here’s my second plane. I’m officially addicted. I tried a bunch of different techniques with the Hawker Hurricane and loved every minute of it!

As always, I welcome your tips, advice, and feedback!

[:o)]Thats a fine build there, only its no Hurricane, a Hawker yes,Typhoon or maybe a Tempest ( bit quicker and all metal !) i’m sure its a genuine mistake…[:D]…maybe the cat again ?

arrrghhh! stupid me! of course you’re right, it’s a typhoon! i’ve just had hurricane’s on the brain as i’m looking for decals for one! whew! off to fix that!!! thanks migs!

looks nice. Good luck with the P40 warhawk with tigershark decals, should look nice for the flying tiger fans out there

Hey mer,
You did a very good job on that bird. The weathering is well and not over done.
Hope did you apply the id bands on the lower wing?? Is that painted on or decal??
I just noticed your a/c are gear up!! Again a job well done my friend[;)]
Flaps up, Mike

Looks great mer! When I finally get my f-18 finished, I’ll see if I can’t post some pics of it. What kind of camera did you use, your pics look clear as clear can be. You’re better than me.

madda

Very nice! looks like you have a natural talent.

Sweet bird, Mer. I’m gonna go put mine back in the box now [;)]

Nice looking plane and the website looks great also.

Merideth, If you are half as pretty as your aircraft, your husband is a lucky man! Your aircraft are awesome! WOW. Backwards, WOW.
Lee

Hi mer, very good work.
Looking forward to see your next work…

hey all! it’s a great way to start your morning by logging on and finding such great and encouraging comments! Thanks to everyone for the compliments!

mike yep, i painted those babies! (feeling proud)

madda looking forward to seeing your pics…i use a fuji finepix 2650 and believe me i researched like the devil before i commited to a digicam…this one ROCKS and it has macro mode for taking good shots of little stuff like model aircraft

lee you’re just making me blush with all those sweet things you say [:I]

Awesome stuff!

The Typhoon has always been one of my favorite warbirds, it just looks like it could kick anything’s butt around the block and back again.

Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing the P-40 pics

Keep up the good work!

thanks guys! i’m looking forward to doing another British plane now that i’ve finished the Tiffy…I have a Spit Mk VIII and a Mk IX for down the line!

we’ll wait with baited breath !.. your pics had me off to find out little more about Typhoon / Tempest differences, basically Tempest is much easier to spell !! (only kidding)
Great to see these Brit Warbirds done proud and i hope a Hurricane is on the horizon sometime ![:)]

migs my future hurricane will be dedicated to you and your enthusiasm for my brit-plane efforts! [:)]

Fine work, puts mine to shame. I admire that you did that cammo job on the Typhoon that still scares me off. Mer what is your inspiration to getting into modeling WW II fighters?

thanks tigerman! I’m glad you liked the plane. Believe me, the camouflage intimidated me too. Notice i didnt even try to do it freehand! As for my inspiration for getting into WWII fighters, a combo of things really. Thing 1. I’m a history junkie and always have been. (My history profs. in university were shocked and saddened that I wasnt going to be a history major.) Thing 2. As a graphic designer I have a special appreciation for deco and mid-century design and some of the coolest examples of these things come in the form of industrial design. Thing 3: I love Big Band/Swing. Put em all together and you get a gal who builds warbirds!

Mer,
Nice job ![8D] Really liked your weathering.
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. Look
forward to the P-40.
