Second attempt at an Eagle.

Hi all,

I got hold of this Hasegawa F-15C Eagle some years ago and ruined it. Well, I thought it was about time to see if this one was worth saving. So far, I’ve repainted it, added a new 'pit and resin burner cans. Hopefully it will turn out better in the near future[:o)]

Here’sa quick WIP pic:

Hey Darren! Looks good so far, buddy! I’ve done the same thing with kits…put 'em on hold until I felt ready to attack 'em again with a fresh outlook and a few new modeling techniques under my sleeve.

Hey thanks Mike,[tup]

Now I’m a little bit older and wiser I hope to do something good with this build. I’ll keep you posted on how I get on.

Great save!.. I think I can see where your original problem lies… The instructions for the F-4 are probably the wong ones to go with for this build? hehehe jokes

Cheers,
Chris

Jets from a secret workshop somewhere in England? BLASPHEMY![;)]

Seriously… BLASPHEMY!

Ok really serioulsy now. Looks good so far.[:)]

Yeah and what do they know about jets in England anyway! Its not like they were invented there. Opps I forgot all about Frank Whittle, never mind. My apologies.

Well, those boffin’s at the secret workshop somewhere in England have been at it again! [:O]

More WIP:

Mmmm…funny thing really, how us Brits do really good jobs on modifying US equipment! [:-,][:D][:D][:D][:D]

It’s as simple as adding a Merlin engine to the Eagle…

Looks great so far, second time around! Can I take a wild guess?? I forsee another stunning custom made base for the Eagle?

[#ditto] The displays you do for your models really are inspiring, Darren! Something I really need to improve on. Nicely done, buddy! [tup]

Thanks fella’s [tup]

I really don’t which way to go with this one…two choices spring to mind:

  1. Use the kit decals for the 1st TFW and make a concrete airbase ramp.

  2. Buy some AM decals for an Alaska based Eagle and do a runway with snow down the sides.

Mmmm…whatcha think?

Looking damn fine so far Tango, from another Brit. Wasnt there a rather obscure US plane that proved to be a bit good after the addition of a merlin?..P something lol.

…Guy

I like the second choice, Darren. Not something one sees every day. With your skills at doing bases for aircraft, should be a looker when finished!

actually Rudd the 1st TFW Wing Commanders aircraft is still flying around don’t quite know where right now probably puttering around in a ANG squadron somewhere or some other Active duty Air Force Squadron that was left out of the F-22 hunt (LOL).

But Seriously the last Wing Commander to fly that bird that what I remember was Richard Meyers who would later become Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Pentagon.

[(-D][(-D][(-D] Yes, I seem to remember there was one…[:D]

Mmm…So the airframe I’m working on is still in service? Very interesting, I’ll have to see if I can track it down.

Mike,

the snowy base does sound tempting, I’m going to sit down and see how to plan it. Depends if I can do it without making the display base huge, this kit is a little big bigger than I’m used to working on!

Darren, if you allow me to twist your other arm, definately the snow. You did wonders with the carrier deck on the F-14, and a snow based diagram for the F-15 would be a great encore.

Mmmm…tempting. Leave it with me, I have some research to do.[;)]

After searching the web, its looks like I won’t be able to get hold of any decal sheets with the AK tail codes.

The OOB option is going to be a fighter that was based at Langley AFB, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think they see much snow there, so I won’t be doing the snow base for now…
