Searching for Corsair (F4U1) parts.

Hello all. I am a recent return to the hobby. Looking to restore the collection of my youth, I recently acquired the Revell 1/32 “Baa Baa Blacksheep” F4U-1 like one I received as a birthday present so many years ago. I remembered this kit had a nice engine but forgot that the interior is miserably absent of any detail. I saw on the SprueBrothers website an interior kit by Aries for the Trumpeteer kit. Being on a fixed income, the cost of the Corsair was a big hit to the model budget so the $47 additional is just too much to handle. What I am wondering is, has anyone out there built the Trumpeteer kit with the Aries upgrade and would consider parting with the stock components? Not asking for a handout, mind you. Willing to pay a reasonable price. I appreciate all the fine works I have seen on the Diorama section, you guys are really good. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Hope someone can come through for you. I can’t, but I have the Revell kit also. I got the Verlinden pit for it. Squadron has it for $25 plus shipping. If that is too steep, maybe you can put the kit aside for a while, and put a little coin away until you have enough to get it.

I dont know if these leftover parts from my Trump F4U-4 will work for you but you are welcome to them. I used an Edward PE set and did not need this stuff. I can also throw in the PE instructions which has great detailed pics if your a scratch~builder.

Wow! what a helpful group of people you are. Less than 24 hours after this post went up and 50+ viewings tells me this is a group that takes a keen interest in the hobby. Living here in Tuscaloosa, I am in a Black Hole when it comes to scale model sources. Hobby Lobby is practically the only game in town (thank the stars for their 40% off coupons) other than a Mom & Pop that concentrates on RC’s, though I scored some great “Estate Sale” bargains when he was clearing out some plastic for a friend. (Monogram’s 1/48 B24-J “Aces High”, 1/48 C47 Skytrain, 1/48 B26 “Yankee Guerilla”) With the closest shops 60 miles away in Birmingham: an independent called Model Box ant the HobbyTownUSA chain, the internet is my only source for anything like decal sets (which were needed for the bargains as they had not been well stored).
Once again, let me express my appreciation for the interest you have shown in the plight of this newcomer and maybe one day I can scrounge up a digital camera to share my work.
Until next time, Happy Modeling.
