Well folks, I’m on a roll making up for lost time here.

This model sat in a box for about 18 years before I got to it this last spring. The tail section was sawed into 7 sections to achieve the “wagging tail” effect. The interior has tiny strips of colored foil for the control buttons that show up really well under direct light, white-metal strips used for the pilot’s harness and a stand that was modified by using real sand and painted aquarium plants I had laying around. One of my favorite sci-fi vehicles, it was a fun build to modify.

The body was painted in blue metallics using a rattle-can and cardboard masks! I don’t have a functioning airbrush, so I’m happy with the results anyway. Thanks.

Another nice project. I like what you’ve done with it. I bought all the SeaQuest kits when they came out, but only built the DSV.

Wow! That is beautiful. Your hard work really paid off.

I enjoyed that show, but I always thought the producers missed the boat (no pun intended…really) by not making the vehicles more recognizable “characters” the way the Enterprise was on Star Trek. The beautiful vehicle concepts they had were usually depicted in virtual darkness…realistic for undersea, I know, but kind of difficult for the audience to “connect with.”
