very nice piece of work csago, especially the effect you have gotten with the water. that is no easy task. welcome to the forum, great to have you and your work. semper fi, mike

WOW! Very nicely done. Welcome to the forums… Now, are you going to share with the class how you got those great results? hmmmmmmmmmm?

Holy S%$T. That is a peice of work. Its great.
If I may ask what did you use for the water? and welcome to the forum.

Thank you very much.
The water is made with clear poliester resin (in Spain we use the one named “cronolita”, something like the envirotex), several layers (3-5mm per layer), with some drops of paint (acrilics or oils), more paint the first layers, less paint the last ones, and clear the last of all. When this one it´s almost poured, you can make the little waves with a wood stick, metal rod or something like that (make a test first out of your dio¡¡¡¡).
The foam is only acrilic artist gel from Golden Artist Inc, the heavy gloss one, several layers, picking with a wood stick for the “jumping” drops.
Thanks again.

great piece of work. Thanks for sharing it with us. Most impressive figure detail. Keep them coming!

The detail is incredible, may I ask what scale that is in and where did you purchase the figures, I have been looking into doing something on vietnam as well. great job man

Incredible. Very nicely done.

csage,

First off, welcome to the forum. You jumped in with both feet with that diorama as it is great. Thanks for sharing.

Richard

Looks really great. The water effect is awesome.

Thank you very much, and about figures they are all from DML Dragon, the charlies from “Vietcongs” box (straight from the box, just they exchanged a leg from one to other, and arms from retails box) the pilot is the original from the LSSC kit (with a new head from “Vietnam helicopter crew”), the seal patrol is from “Seals 2” (with some legs from “Marine Recon” box and some arms from “1st cav div”) and the M-60 gunner with usaf gloves is a mix of “Seal2” legs and head, “Marines Khe Sahn” body, and “Vietnam helicopter crew”. Of course, scale is 1/35.

I must say that I´m “in love” with Dragon figures. They (most of then, no the oldest ones) are outstanding, very good and cheaper that the resin ones.

fantastic dio!! wish mine would turn out like that. what did u use for the foliage and how did u attach it. I’m doing something with a grassy field and the going is slow. I’m having trouble attaching the tall grass. thanks for the pics!!!

Thanks, and the foliage is a base of dry moss, “cañamo” (sorry, I can remember the english word for it) rope painted with airbrush, some dry plants from florist shops, and some plants made of aluminium (from dentifric or wine bottles…). Most of plants are glued with white glue (the one the carpenters use), in holes made in the moss base through the poliespam base, and the plants at the river bank ar glued with contact glue.

For more explains you can check, if you like, the Missing-lynxs forum (constructive …) and search “santiago tre”.

Good luck with your dio boy ¡¡¡¡

That is really really cool, nice job!

whew… that is simply awesome!!!

You’ve done a super job, thanks for the pics.
