I would like some advice, being fairly new to the modeling hobby
but would like to try something in 72nd scale air craft but i would like a easy subject as to not ot be discouraged.
Cheers McCabeb
Most of the Tamiya 1/72 WWII offerings are very simple builds which will end in a nice result no matter the modelers skill level. The fit of their 1/72 scale A/C is almost always perfect. Their Me-109 series in particular is very easy to build. Also Academy 1/72 scale kits are very nice A/C, but they require a bit more work to end up with a nice product, but still fairly easy compared to many manufactures.
Mmmm… What about Tamiya’s F4D Skyray…? But maybe you prefer other periods in aviation…?
McCabeb,
Practically ANYTHING that says Tamiya on the box will be an easy build because their kits are so well manufactured - simply put, the bits just fit. You have to so something very wrong for things to go pear-shaped building a Tamiya kit.
If you’re relatively new to the hobby, maybe try to stick to the better kits (like Tamiya and Hasegawa) for 1/72 scale, because if you have a great kit to start with, you’ll end up with better results from the beginning.
Then, as you gain experience, tackle those companies kits that offer unique subjects, but often have fit problems.
And if you have any questions on what to do and when during the build, just ask!!
As our foreman says, the only stupid question is the one you DON’T ask…
Cheers mate
