Seafire FR.47

Hi Everyone,

here we have another entry to FSM’s ever popular Fleet Air Arm GB. This time its the Airfix 1/48 Seafire FR.47. It was built OOB with the exception of a PE seat harness and a very generous donation of decals from Frank (Daywalker)

This Seafire was aboard HMS Triumph during the Korean war and it wears the markings of No.800 NAS.

You just had to go and outdo yourself again didn’t you!

You are a master at creating effective bases. What a stunning piece ort art you’ve produced here.

[bow] Beautiful! All you need is a sound clip of “Rule Brittania” or Richard Rogers Royal Navy theme music to go with it. How was this kit to build?

Darren-

Outstanding! I keep going back and looking at these photos, just can’t stop looking at them! Incredible job, and the base really sets off the colorful markings on this bird![bow]

Thanks lads![tup]

Stikpusher-This is definately one of Airfix’s better efforts. It has excellent recessed surface detail and builds up easily as long as you take your time with it. The only two problems that you may encounter are the wing root and wing flap assembly. Dry fit them first and you’ll be OK.[tup]

Awesome work, from a fellow brit. Fantastic job on a not often modelled subject.

WOW… it’s deja-vu all over again. Wasn’t I just syaing how great your Spitfire looked?[%-)]

Well I will just have to say iut again then… Really sharp looking build.

Guy, Marc,

Awesome! Beautiful work on that… and the base is stunning. [tup] [tup]
