What colors are the TBM in the ealy 1940s? Your help would be helpful.
Early 40’s pretty much covers all schemes. Intermediate blue with grey belly / White belly, intermediate blue sides, non-specular sea blue top / some cases non-scep sea blue belly and top, with int. blue sides / overall gloss dark blue / atlantic scheme-white and grey. Then there’s the Flight Air Arm and all their colors. Just depends on the particular craft you want to model!

The 2 Atlantic schemes ( including the Caribbean) were generally referred to as " ASW Schemes 1 and 2…
Scheme 1 : Dark Gull Gray 621 uppers, Light Gull Gray 620 side surfaces, Gloss White 511 below.
Scheme 2 : as above but Non-Specular Insignia White 46 (later 601) replaced the LGG on sides.
No. 2 was more common; these were on land-based patrol bombers PB4Y-1s and PV Venturas).

Sorry, but those are 1943 colors. The colors for 1942 and the Midway birds are Blue Gray over Light Gray, officially. What was in the paint cans, is what was on hand.
