i’m doing a sea cammo job on an Air Force bird used in Vietnam and the kit is very vague on what colors to use for the cammo. it list dark green, olive green, and tan as colors with no FS numbers. can someone help me with this please. i just need the FS colors for the 3 top colors. thanks. later.
It varies and they are frequently faded and dull. My F-105 uses FS-30219 (tan), FS-34102 (light green), FS-34079 (dark green) and FS-34087 (olive drab). FS-34087 is on the ordnance. The other three are the top colors. The bottom is FS-36622 (gray).
thanks scott. later.
Chris,
My A-1H Skyraider is Dark Green (34079), Medium Green (34102), and Dark Tan (30219). The bottom is Camoflage Gray (36622).
Almost the same as Scott said except my (34102) is called Medium Green.
Mike
thanks mike, i got the same response over on the aircraft thread. naturally, i dont have medium green so i may have to mix up a batch that will be close enough. later.
what plane is it anyways?
if i told you, i’d have to kill ya jeff!![;)] i’ll be postin’ it pretty soon, just keep an eye out over on the a/c thread. you see, i posted some progress pics a while back on a couple of projects i was workin’ on (an israeli F-16A, and a P-51D) and both got ruined before i could finish them!! i’m not superstitious, i just don’t want it to happen again.[;)] Murphy is always lurking around my workbench seeing what he can destroy. later.
[:D][8D][xx(][:)][;)][alien][8)][:O][?][?] chris lol
Come on Chris it can’t be that secret. [;)]
If it’s SEA camo then that narrows it down to about 4 aircraft or so: F-100, F-4, F-105 and A-1.
You can tell us or we have other means of extracting the information!
Speaking in a German accent: Vut aircraft are you building? No answer eh?

Mike

Although admittedly I don’t see a lot of them needing SEA camo colors. And I sure dien’t think the F-14 was there; I didn’t even think it was flying then.
Yeah the F-14’s maiden deployment (VF-1) was on ENTERPRISE in 1974-1975. They were on station off of South Vietnam during the evacuation of Saigon. [:D]
Thanks, I didn’t realize that. I didn’t think their deployment came until later in the 70’s, like around 78 or so.
sorry fellows, i had a fellow crash into my light pole in my front yard Sunday morning at about 2 am knocking out my phone connection. the dude hit my nieghbors culvert, getting airborne, he smashed into the light pole and snapped it about half way up!! it didn’t break completely and it held long enough for them to fix it today. the people in the car get out (all six of them) and shagged, left the overturned car in the middle of the road!!! i guess no one was hurt! i extracted all this information from my nieghbor as i didn’t hear a thing!![zzz][zzz][:-^] missed all the action!!!
to give you a clue of which bird i’m building, its in musiccity’s list!![:D][:p] later.
[:D][:D][:D] that’s funny mike!
Chris! I did’nt know you believe in murphy’s law. Well if you affraied of it, then you must belive it. dont you??
Anyway, why dont we put it to the test. Tell us what A/C it is and then we will see what happen! Comeon! what another 20-30$ piece of plastic to see if murphy’s really works! [;)]
shahar, i don’t believe in Murph’s law like some sort of religion, but its funny how things work in the world that we live. i build houses for a living and i just call the little demons that run around and tie extension cords in knots, make them hang on every little thing that gets in the way, that goes for air hoses too, he eats small tools such as nail sets, drill bits, utility knives, chalk boxes, tape measures, he also likes to play tricks like making pneumatice staplers and finish guns jamb, shoot nails out the side of a finished piece of cabinetry during installation, tips over paint, thinner, stain and any other chemical that may cause major chaos in a nearly finished house, he also loves to blow out my tires on my trailor while hauling my backhoe from a to b, and, he’s even moved into my modelling experiences with countless little tricks as well. do you get the drift?LOL oh well, they wouldn’t call it work if it was fun!! later.
Chris, Thanks for narrowing it down.
Regards, Rick
I think its a hellcat and he’s trying to figure out the blue [:P] … BADGER!!!
ahhh…ok!!
Well, that’s a no brainer. You know, of course, that if you lie Murphy is going to be even worse!
I would start at the beginning of the list, but I have a hunch:
AC-130 Spectre
you guys just don’t pay attention, i posted the pit for it awhile back and some of you commented on it!! it’ll be done by the weekend most likely. later.
