What is meant by the term nonspecular when it comes to sea blue or white?
In the tricolor scheme, I gather it is nonspecular sea blue, intermediate blue and nonspecular white.
Where does sea blue and flat sea blue fit in?
Nonspecular means flat, or matt. The aircraft undersurfaces are white, horizontal surfaces intermediate blue, and the topsides are sea blue. These are all flat colors. I love that combination. Good luck on the kit ! Pix.
i mentioned this on a post in the airbrush and paint section, but i really had a problem with a bottle of Dark Sea Blue (Testors Model Master acrylic). The darned stuff wouldnt mix with any thinnner, and i tried water, alky, and even the Testor brand name thinner. The paint just rose to the top and the thinner went to the bottom…weird
Huskerguy : Testors is pretty good at customer service. Did you tell them of the problem ? My first airbrush was one of their double action ones (yes, I know the stories). The paint backed up into the body of the brush (there’s no way to open & clean it), I sent it back and they replaced it, and gave me a free tip with it. Give it a shot, there’s nothing to lose !
