Here’s my take on Tamiya’s SdKfz 222 in period markings. This is straight from the box, except I made the Jerry can racks from aluminum.
This was a quick build just to clear the air. I plan on a bit of weathering then to the shelf.

Good job on the Afrika Korps paint scheme. but here is a couple critiques
#1. Width indicators need to be angled right and left not straight.
#2. What color are those guns anyways? The MG34 and Kwk.38 are actually gunmetal in color though the reciever (the entire section behind the barrel)on the Kwk.38 can actually be painted to match the hull color.
#3. The gun shield that the Kwk.38 barrel goes through on the gun mount is actually hull color not whatever color that was that you painted the gun mount with ( I swear that looks black).
BTW Tamiya gunmetal is a pretty accurate match for gun color. and I’m pretty sure you can paint the gun mount hull color as well.
Sometimes a quick build is just the ticket to get the juices flowing again. Nice work on the “Tropen” scheme! [Y]

Thanks for the references! I had no idea what was what color when I did this.
The guns themselves are MM Gunmetal, drybrused with Vallejo gunmetal. The remainder of the interior is PzGray.
The “curb feelers” are, well, problematic.

Panzerguy - Thanks Mate! Trouble with this one is were to start and when to stop. I played it safe, not wanting an involved project and stuck with the box.

The gunshield color can be correct (if dark grey). The early DAK veicles were Panzer Grey and were painted in the field so its possible.
I do agree that the WI need to be angled a bit. Great job.[B]
