I just bought this Esci 1/35 kit. I am looking to do a colorful camouflage like the “Ambush” color scheme of the Battle of the Bulge. Any ideas where I can get fotos of this scheme and if applicable to this vehicle? Any other ideas for paint schemes?
The application of the “Ambush” scheme was generally limited to a select set of vehicles, usually tanks, tank destroyers and assault guns. Rarely have I seen it applied to other vehicles, although I have seen photos of a SdKfz 251 and a Hummel painted in this scheme.
I’m assuming the kit you have is the SdKfz 10/4? I’ll see if I can find some color plates and post them for you.
Most of the paint schemes I can find are early war ones, Panzer Grey or Panzer Grey with thin Dark Yellow stripes. I do have a nice 3-tone color plate, but unfortunately, both of the photo hosting sites I use are currently offline and who knows when they will be back. [:(!]
