Sd.Kfz.265 Kl.PzBfW Complete w/ figure

This one is finished and ready for a base. I really like these PzI’s, they have a cool profile.

That first pic made me think of a Maus heavy tank. The profile looks similar (from what I remember).

Awesome job. Great figure.

FingersEddie

Just love it all great job. Alan

beautiful work Paul, the paint and fading and weathering tie together perfectly, i love the contrast and have tried it at times myself but never with this kind of success, awesome job.

Sharp work as always, you’ve done this little guy some real justice! [tup]

A really superlative finish there, absolutely outstanding! Is that Prussian Blue I’m seeing in the wash?

Thanks for lookin’ guys!

In these images the paint looks a little blue, but in the flesh its not, I guarantee ya’. [;)]

Kykeon, I never used any Prussian Blue in the wash, all I use is Burnt Umber as a pin-wash. Cheers man!

I’ve made the realisation on why I find the profile of this panzer attractive! Havin’ been into modellin’ cars and such and diggin’ they’re lines and profiles, this panzer reminds me of a Datsun 240Z. [:D]

[:O] Once again, I refuse to beleive that your figures are 1/35. They simply look too amazing. I love it!

Is that the dragon kit with the itsy bitsy teeny weeny little individual tracks? The same one I broke too many tracks trying to get them off the sprue? It’s a very nice job you’ve done, and it makes me want to build mine now. Are there any alternatives for AM tracks?

QT

That’s fine work Paul. Your figure is amazing and gives an idea just how small the Pz. I was.

Awesome job!!!

Thanks so much, guys!

QT, its funny you should mention this. I used a set of MK links and they literally started to fall apart after I applied an enamel thinner/ pigment wash. Not only that, they were comin’ away at the moulded in pin side! It was a real touch and go moment, and I don’t wanna’ have to go through this again!

So now i’m gonna’ start usin’ Friulmodellismo PzI Opel Maultier track links. I’ve heard a lot of good things about ‘em, not needin’ much cleanup. Also, they’ll give me piece of mind on all my future PzI builds, to not fall apart.

By the way, WWII are gonna’ release a set of PzI links soon. In plastic, the PzI links are quite flexible, and hopefully this’ll be the same with WWII’s resin set to a certain extent, and won’t end up with such a high attrition rate in fittin’ 'em together!

Maybe i’ll have to start gettin’ used to workin’ with Dragon’s non-workable kit tracks!

FingersEddie,

Can’t add anything to what’s been said, but will just give dittos on a fantastic job. The figure is just unbelievable… I’d go [tup][tup][tup][tup].

Regards,

Joe [:D] [:D]

A real little gem, beautiful. Nice work Paul, I think the final finishing is excellent.

Terry.

Paul,

As always, a really fine job!!!

Really thin washes seem to attack the plastic on the pins and make them brittle. I’ve had entire track runs literally come apart in my hands and have to be glued back together in a “non-workable” arrangement to get them to stay together. The tracks that have the smaller/shallower pins seem to be the most susceptible to this. One of my Pz III track sides proved exceptionally fragile (although both tracks were given the same treatments) and I have to be very careful moving it around as a result. This was one time where I didn’t basecoat the tracks with Flat Black before applying the Metalizer and the washes and I think that’s the main culprit. I’ve got the same MK track set for an upcoming Bison I build, so will keep your experience in mind Paul.

Wow! Truly amazing Eddie [tup] Your finish is top notch! Your figure is really well painted and looks amazingly realistic!

The first time I looked at your tracks, they seemed backward to me… When I looked at some pictures, I saw that I was wrong. But I found this of a Ausf.A, and I believed that this is the one that mislead me.

Somebody was drunk at the factory [X-)] [(-D]

Congrats on a well done build! [tup]

Thanks Jean-Michel!

That is unusual, to see those tracklinks fitted like that.

Nice work Eddie, I love the outcome of the build.

But what I like the most is the way you paint the figure, very well executed. Can you share a little bit how you paint the figure? My tank armada is getting lonely in the shelf.

Sure Eddie, a Datsun that spits out hot metal [(-D]. I wonder what kind of quarter mile does this thing can do ?

Ben

Outstanding…figure is superb.
