Sd Kfz 251 Research site

For those of you working on a DML or AFV kit of the SdKfz 251 that you got over the holidays, check out the Achtung web site link below. I don’t read Russian, but I could figure out how to scroll through literally dozens of excellent pics including some of the beast stripped down and of some very odd variants!!!

Have fun.

There are tons of other photos on the site as well, but you have to guess how to navigate through it and what you are looking at unless you know Russian

Thanks for the link, and [#welcome] to the forum.

they have some really great pictures in there! Thanks for the link!

Great site!!! I am not able to read Russia, either. However, after a little exploration of this site I found the following:

There are 133 pictures of 251s–each on its own page. You can access the pages directly: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_251_1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_251_133.htm – just change the number. Or you can scroll through them one at a time.

There are 29 pictures of SdKfz 250s: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_250_1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_250_29.htm.

There are 252 pictures of Panthers (Pzkw V): http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_panther1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_panther252.htm.

There are 186 pictures of Panzer IVs: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_pzIV1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_pzIV186.htm

There are 67 pictures of tanks captured by and then used by the Germans: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_captured1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_captured67.htm.

There are 16 pictures of T-34s captured by and used by the Germans: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_t34_1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_t34_16.htm.

There are even 11 picture of General Guderian: http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_guderian1.htm thru http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/gallery/g_guderian11.htm thru.

You can explore the site yourself by going to the home page http://www.achtungpanzer.bos.ru/ and then scroll down to the sectiion called Panzerwaffe (big page, potentially slow to load). Then explore each of the links in the section. The subsequent pages usually contain drop down boxes near the bottom of the page. Those drop down boxes have links to the other AFVs. Also, some pages have pictures along the right-hand side–these are links as well.

Have fun exploring this great Russian reference site. There are many diorama ideas here. As well as some very unique conversions, such as a 251 rigged with a caliope rocket launcher.

Wow!! Thats a ton of stuff!! Thanks for the heads up on this site!!

Nice one, these are a great resource point!

Thanks, I love researching armor, so if there are unique subjects that you want found and researched, let me know.

You are a gentleman and a scholar! Thanks for sharing the link. If anyone has FireFox, I recommend adding the “translate” extension. After doing that, you’ll be able to get a rough translation of the site into English (in my case) . I’ve already added 500 images to my personal collection from this site.

Thanks again!

Hi all, im from Russia, but thanks for good link[:)]

HI, Could you re-post the above link as it was a few days ago? You had other links to 251 sites, with one being a reference to the Infra-Red Half-track set up. I did not have the time to print it out, so could you let us see that reference too. This site is not bad, but is a collection of photos from other sites, presented in a different format.

Thanks

Rob Savage

Rob,

I started a new thread today for SdKfz 251 UHU that will hopefully help.
