A while back, in an issue of FSM, one that I can not now locate, there was an article on a guy building a racing plane with floats from scratch. If I remember correctly, he used a material that came in sheet and block form, sanded easly, was a pale pink in color, painted well, etc… I need to find out what that stuff was and for the life of me, can’t figure out how to find it.
Any help would be most appreciated
Thanks in advance, Allan31
The common name is butterboard, the general term is tooling plastic. Bob Santos uses it, and gets it from plastic supply places in the form of scraps from large pieces that is sold in. On another list he suggested googling butterboard to find a source. He’s still using leftovers from when he last looked for some in the past, so he didn’t have a specific supplier to name.
Perfect John,
Thanks a bunch, soounds like the stuff I need.
Big help, thanks again…
