After sanding I’ve tried to scribe some of the detail lines back onto the aircraft. I picked this up on this forum as a way to restore sanded lines. I’ve had little sucess in this as I can’t keep the scribe on correct lines down the side of the plane, much less sucess going across the curved top . I’ve got a steel rule, but can’t get a good job done. Also any tips on filling cracks, please feel to free to give sugestions. Wahooman
mmhhh, I am not exactly sure wich tools you are using for the job because there are a lot of scribers out there.
I personaly had my best result using a stanley knive/boxcutter. Because of the weight it offers a lot of controle, you don’t need to push the knive into the plastic, allowing you to slowly scrib a line.
for filling small cracks you could use CA glue or tippex.
I almost forgot to tell you that the techniques section might be a better place to ask these questions. In this parts of the forum you will only get answers from aircraft modellers.
By going to a general part of the forum you read about different techniques from different types of modellers, which can lead to a good cross over from every type of modelling!
A steel rule will easily slip. I rely on Dymo tape as a scribing guide.

As mentioned above,Dymo tape is the best. You can get it at an office supply store. Its not exactly cheap so as you use a piece, cut it kind of wavey down the middle, and now youll have two pieces. The wavey motion is so that youll know what side is the straight side. Use very litle pressure with the scribe.
Swanny’s guide to scribing also lists as helpful a “set of French curves”.
I’m not sure my wife will approve…
Seriously, what are these?
