Scratchbuilt, metal F4U Corsair model?

I’m gathering research on F4U Corsairs and I distinctly remember seeing an article (I thought was in FSM) on a scratchbuilt Corsair that was built out of metal by, I believe, a dentist in Hawaii but I can’t find the issue anywhere. It was an awsome piece of work. Does anybody recall this issue or have I spent too much quality time around enamels?

Thanks.

That was an interesting model. Contact FSM. I’m sure they’ll tell you which issue it was. I read something about that model being in a museum somewhere.

SIMPLY INCREDIBLE!!!

Those pictures at craftsmanshipmuseum.com are absolutely amazing. That is truly another level of craftsmanship. I cannot imagine the level of commitment and patience it would take to complete a project like that. Not to mention skill. It would be a treat to see one of Mr. Park’s models in person.

Dr. Park is one incredible modeller!!! For another site that will leave you
awestruck, dumbfounded, humbled, and inspired try this one:

There are over 3000 photos of all sorts of models.

Ray that is an awesome site. The working scale Ferrari 12 cylinder engine is really neat!

Wow is all I can say about the Corsair! Can you imagine the time and effort to build not one but two of the Corsairs. What an awsome job!

Here’s another collection of fantastic models. The builder
claims the only power tool used is his airbrush compressor.
Many photos—much to drool over.
