Scratch Built Fire Truck Pics

This is what I did for the Emergency Vehicle build. The truck is based on an actual one that we have up at my station. I used an old Monogram 1940 Ford custom truck kit for the cab and chasis. Other than that nothing else was used fromt he box. You cans ee how I went about building the truck at this like here http://lizardsworkshop.50megs.com/46build.html . The actual truck is a 1946 Ford American Lafrance, but no one seems to make a 46 kit that I found. All comments and questions are welcome.

Hi ya lizardqing

That is one great [:O][wow] classic fire truck … [bow] … I really like the details you included in the way of fire fighting equipment.

Thanks a bunch for sharing … I enjoyed it ! [swg]

Chris that is one great build! Your fire truck turned out perfect. To anyone considering a scratchbuild project, I highly recommend that you look at the link Chris has provided for the progress of this awesome build.

That is one GREAT looking truck, Chris…well done!

Regards, Dan

Thanks guys. Hope it can encourage someone else to try out a bit of scratchbuilding.

Chris, my friend, another great build on your shelf. This truck is one of your best yet. Hope to see this one in person at the Nats.

Thanks Ed. And as long as it can survive the next year in the same house my little one ( being the 3 yr old that got the 109 off the ceiling) it will be there.

very nice indeed. you should put it next to a diecast model of that OCC Fire Bike!

Thanks. Don’t think I am familiar with the fire bike one though.

Great subject expertly executed. I’m sure you’ll continue to get a lot of satisfaction from this build, especially as you know its unique.

Chris,

Really nice job on this. Your time and effort paid off!! Nice work
