Many thanks for your kind compliments, TD4438! AI is a fast builder, one model takes him a day or two only. He recently finished 6 pieces (dio included) in 12 days. He once told me that he could finish a whole diorama in just one day, and that he finished zimmeritting and painting two (2) Tamiya’s Tiger 1:16 (pre-assembled by a hobby shop) overnight!
According to AI, if the tires were plastic or hollow rubber, he had no problem painting them. But if the tires were rubber and not hollow, glossiness is inevitable because they have so much density that however much you painted on them, the tires will suck and absorb all paints and will come out glossy.
Thanks so much for your kind words, Karl! the phrase “sincerely beautiful” is very pleasant and unprecedent. I’ll surely convey your message to AI.
BTW, I’ve already seen your Nomad in FSM Nov2008 issue, very well done! I won’t get my Dec2008 issue until next month after I ask customer service for it (I’ve had to do this on a monthly basis since the May issue), and I’ll be looking for your amazing work.
Many thanks for your kind comments! I think he just knows what he’s doing and he’s born to build! His two elder brothers are also good builders, BTW.
I got informed of a PM here since last Friday evening but then I was at home and I couldn’t even access the site and read the PM, not to mention answering them! (the error message was “Connection Lost” every time). For the past three days this week, I could read the PM at my office, but I still couldn’t reply to it up to this moment -the loading of reply page seemed to never end!. Anyway, the loading of topic reply page (this topic) still works, so I’ll quote and reply to the PM here (name of sender withheld because he may not want me to show):
"Love your posts
Thanks for sharing some awesome builds. Your builders do some very good work. The historical accuracy may be lacking, and that is a fault, but the overall work is VERY good usually.
Jarod
I also admire that you post such great builds, and don’t take credit for them. I hope to someday build as well as your men do.
Your understanding of the “English” language is commendable as well. Despite some “always negative responses” you post anyway. Thanks."
I just can’t thank you enough for your kind comments and encouragement! I’m sorry that I could not respond earlier because of the problem I mentioned above. Right now I still can post and reply at my office, but I’ll retire in just a few years. After that I might not be able to post anymore if the problem cannot be solved. I’m also running out of display space to keep my built kits!
These are both really good builds and show a lot of talent. I would have to say that my favorite of the two is the BMW R/75; that one just seems to pop out to me. My favorite part of it is the bagage on the back.
