Great looking 262 so far Pix. Thanx for sharing. Bryan
Thank you j.s.harrison, pingtang, reggie, fightnjoe, Thad, gunney, & falcon !
j.s.harrison - you have a sharp eye there ! I added wiring & hydraulic lines to the gun bay:

I also added wiring & piping to the gear wells:
I’ll be finishing the landing gear today, complete with hydraulic & electrical lines.
Thanks again !
I added hydraulic lines to the landing gear today. I used micro solder for the thick lengths, and fine copper wire for the thin ones. The connectors are represented by brass paint. There are still two short lengths to add to the main gear legs leading to the brakes. These will be installed after the wheels are attached. I used the colors of the gear in the walkaround for reference. It was about six hours of shaping, cutting, and painting to do the detail.
I had to make sure they fit, so I dryfitted them to the wheel wells.
After this kit, I probably won’t be able to build an Me 262 out of the box anymore !
Unfriggin believable man. Beautiful.
Once again the impossible is achieved.
That is looking excellent Bill! [tup]
Thanks
Mike
great new pictures:: they appear very convincing to me.
Thanks woodbeck, obiwan, Mike, & jay_liang_CA !
Working with the solder is pretty easy. It bends easily, and holds its shape well. If you want to try adding it to one of your builds (it can make a BIG difference with some kits). I got a small spool of 0.015 solder for just a couple bucks. Using the wire is trickier. It’s more difficult to get it to bend where & which way you want. It just takes a little time to get used to it.
Thanks again ! [:I]
wow, wow and…wow!!
awesome detailing!![8D][8D][8D]
kind regards,

superb craftmanship…
you breathe life into mere plastic…
ain’t it all in the details…?
once you’ve got the detailing bug…conversions come next…
then it’s scratchbuilding & oob is left in the resin dust…[:-^]
pix outstanding. simply outstanding.

Thanks Nick, cirikili, & fightnjoe !
Yes, detailing is what most interests me in modeling. I don’t care about instuuctions (barely use 'em), or fit (I can find a way to deal with it), but there HAS to be detail. I don’t think I’ll be doing conversions (too much $$$ to make a kit a little different-I’ll just choose an unusual scheme or markings) or scratchbuilding stuff from styrene (can’t cut shapes worth a darn - I’ll pay the pros for a good detail set). Perhaps it’s a demonic side to me . . . they say the Devil is in the details ! [(-D]
Thanks again !
What an incredible model! Truly a showpiece.
Hey rik, forgive me but there’s a slight problem with your sig file picture. Penguins live around the South Pole. Polar bears live around the North Pole. [(-D]
Outstanding craftsmanship Pix. A really great build. Thanks for sharing.
Regards, Rick
Thanks Larry & Rick !
The decals have been sealed, so it won’t be too long before I’m done. Final assembly with this kit takes a little longer than most of my builds, but I hope to be done this weekend.
Thanks again !
LOL…Larry…
…assume the penguins went on a rampage having escaped their enclosure at the Twin Cities, Minn. zoo…
