While working in Phoenix I stopped in Avalon Books and Hobbies and paid 6 bucks for some scale tow cable. Much to my dismay the next day I was following the electrician around the jobsite and picking up his excess fixture grounding wire. It is an exact match to the stuff I bought at the hobby store! Sparky then proceeded to tell me how I could get it for 14 cents a foot at the local home improvement store. Oh well, live and learn

tanks a lot for the tip. i think i will go get some to.
what will you use on the ends???
dostacos, I was planning on trying to glue the ends from the model I am putting it on. Other solutions that come to mind are jewelry loop ends or fishing swivels modified and wrapped with tape to look like the ring ends. If anyone else has suggestions pls post

I heard somewhere you could get at home depot a picture hanging wire that was an exact (seven strands and left handed twist) match for German tow cables… Still need to check it out when I’m near a Home Depot…
Hey good tips!
Hardware is always cheaper than “hobby”. I wonder why that is?
Steve, that’s funny. I was just thinking almost that exact same thing this morning. I was considering how much it costs for a little bottle or tin (Humbrol) of paint and thinking that if house paint sold for anything like that on a cost per ounce basis, WOW! I don’t even want to calculate how much a gallon of hobby paint would cost.
