A friend of mine has his fathers business truck. The vehicle has recently rolled over to 1 million miles and has sentimental value.

My question is, where can I find some wheels/tires to replace the OOB 1/4 ton versions to simulate the 1 tone dual wheel set-up required to complete the look? Has anyone out there attempted this type of conversion before?? I was curious about a 1/35 scale semi? Maybe??
Any suggestions out there??
I was visualizing how I would have to modify the existing grill. This looks like a resin piece? Where can a person get ones hands on a piece like that?

I’d check Spaulding Trading Co., who specializes in aftermarket model truck stuff.
In theory,1/35 scale wheels might work for you - no guarantees. Assuming that the vehicle modeled in 1/35 had 22.5" wheels (a typical tractor/trailer size) they would scale to about 16" in 1/25. I don’t know if 16" wheels are right for the vehicle that you want to model but it’s possible.
I think I have solved my wheels problem with this…
I’ll put my 1970"s cab on this chassis, less the boom.
My next hurdle is to find or scratch build the stake bed. I’ve searched longingly for a resin stakebed with no results.

Is there a model train shop near you that might have something that would work, perhaps with some modification? Maybe some structure kits that might have a pattern close to what you’re trying to replicate for the stake bed?
You must be a Rush fan, by the way. A neighbor of mine who recently moved away was an enormous Rush fan and has seen the band in concert regularly since 1980.
Scratchbuilding the stake bed out of balsa wood wouldn’t be hard to do. Bass wood would be just as good too. My [2cnts]
