hi, from previous posts, i am recently re-entering the world of plastic modeling. i picked up a flyer at my LHS the other day and there will be a modeling competition / show coming to my area in may (21). I believe it is called Scale-Fest.
of course i’m going to see all the works that others have done but also interested in vendors / shopping. i’ve never been to one of these so wondering if there is a big vendor turnout and if you can usually get just about anything you need / want there? tools , supplies, kits? also, how about the pricing? i definitely prefer to buy most of my stuff from my LHS (have a couple good ones near my place) but they do not have some of the more exotic stuff / tools. plus, seems like a good time / place to stock up (leave the wife at home).
can someone give me an idea of what to expect and should i hold off mail ordering stuff and buy at the show or will it be a hit and miss type of thing. i’m not expecting rock bottom prices, but am looking for a LARGE selection and decent / competitive prices.
