sanding

I’m having a tough time washing off all the very fine sanding particles, or dust. Then when I paint I get a powdery look that looks awful. Help please I’m new at this!

I don’t understand that do you paint it or not. But remember this before you paint or after sanding you have to clean the model with soap or dish-washer and clean off with water and let them dry before paint. For me before I paint I clean again with paint solution (No harmful to plastic type). But if you paint it over. Clean the dust off by soft touch with 2000 grit - up sand paper with water and cover by primer (I always use the silver color) and re-paint

I use a half inch wide painting brush to clean off the model before painting and vacuum my work table and room frequently. Also be sure its not the paint or the airbrush that is causing the rough finish. Paint that dries before hitting the subject surface can cause this effect as well.

hope that helps!

Try a good tac cloth like Micro Sheen or an automotive shammy to wipe off the model. I assume you are airbrushing, are you thinning your paints? If so what kind of paint are you using, what thinner are you using, what ratio, what air pressure, what range from the model do you shoot at, do you have a moisture trap on the system? Sorry for all the questions but need the info to determine the problem.
