Recently ordered a bucket of sanding twigs from Micromark. When they arrived they were in different colors for different grades, but it would be great if they would tell us the grit of each color.
The original maker is Durasand. Does anyone know the color to grit code?
Color code= it depends. It depends on what they were making & for who that day.
All the sanding twigs I’ve ever bought are left overs from the manufacturing process of making cosmstic fingernail sanding boards. Most have been too coarse for my needs.
I’ve taken to buying fingernail boards at my local Sally Beauty Supply (their cheaper than ones with a model manufacturer’s/distributor’s logo), using them whole or slicing my own twigs using a utility knife & new sharp blade.
You might want to check the mfrs site, remember Micro Mark doesn’t make the items they sell. They are the Sears of the hobby industry…they outsource and private label many of the products in their catalog. My guess is that these come from Alpha Precision Abrasives, which also mfr Touch N Flows.
