Hi; I read the threads on the sanding sticks in one of the earlier topic lines. Micromark was a reference given for small tools and this appears to be a very valuable link. Just to explore this further, does anyone know of sanding sticks in fine grits that are tapered in any way to be able to sand these dang little extrusion circles that sometimes occur between fine molded detail?

Just take a pair of scissors and cut the sanding sticks yourself to get the taper you want. A cheaper alternative is to go to your local beauty supply store and get sanding sticks there. They are much cheaper and come in all different level grits
Ha! Thanks for the suggestion. I may have to recruit the wife for that task. Beauty supply shops in Wyoming could be far and few between. People tend to rely on the wind for that “gussied up” look.
But seriously, I am getting a real impression of how resourceful modelers are getting these days for tools and materials. It tells me I have to be more creative for these specific needs out here on the range.

Yes. Modeling tends to bring out your resourceful side, no matter where you live. Craft stores and Beauty supply shops are like candy stores for modelers. But, if you find one, you have to be a REAL MAN to shop around them by yourself! [:D][:D][:D]
My local Hobby Shop also carries some very thin sanding sticks that are about 2mm wide and 8 inches long. They come in the same variety of grits as the main ones. I have a set and love them! They can get into tight areas as well as between detail. You might want to check your LHS and see if they can carry them or order them.
