Sanding flat

I’d like to get some techniques everyone uses for sanding a surface of resin or plastic flat.

I use a piece of sandpaper on top of a piece of glass. However no matter how hard I try, the center or the object will always be the highest point. Sanding always causing the leading edge to get the most sanding.

Does anyone have a technique to combat this?

Try sanding in a circular motion it seems to help.

Or, the method we use with micromesh to remove damage from perspex canopies, figure of eight. It takes a bit of practice but should be effective for you.

Also, keep the pressure light, the sand paper still, and don’t use too coarse a grain, as if you overdo it, it’ll eat away too much material before you notice! [:o]
