i was only going to post the finished build for this but i cant resist with all the other mustangs being talked about. so here goes.

i have recently begun to work on monograms 1/48 p-51d, going to do it as miss marilyn 2. rather than give a long post discussing what my progress is, i will just show you,

well there is my progress so far.

joe

Great progress, Joe!
Keep us updated!

Joe your going to make Chris jealous.

Thad

This must be Mustang Mania Month. Looking good so far Joe. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

Nice work, fightnjoe !
What will you be using for the NMF?
Keep up the good work !

Hmmmm…

I went to Hobby Lobby to see if I could find me a good P-51 kit, and the manager had ALL his P-51’s packed up in three boxes, ready to ship out to Massachusetts, Washington, somewhere in lower Alabama, and a box on stand-by for Anaheim, at the request of desperate hobby shop owners in certain towns in those states!! - (Bill, Chris, Joe, Jeff… would you all know anything about that???) [:D]

Beautiful work on the cockpit, Joe, thanks for breaking down and sending in your progress report! Will be watching for more, thanks! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

i’m certainly droolin’ fellows, jeff got one goin, joe got one goin’, pix got one goin…and, i’ll get one goin’ too!!! i havent’ done a stang in a month and i’m getting antsy!!

thanks for the pics joe!! one word of advice friend, don’t do household foil for the NMF!!![;)][:P]

Looks great Joe. I’m glad you shared. I too was going to wait until the finish, but now I have been inspired and will share what I have and add to the mustang mania.

Your’s looks sharp!
Leon

wow such a reaction, all i did was post a mustang.[(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]

brian, thad, rik, rick, jeff, gunney, leon, thankyou for the kind words. glad you like the progress.

pix i am going to foil this one using what i learned on the 38. going to use candy foil and going to take my time on this one.

frank whatever would make you think we would corner the market on mustangs??? thanks for the comments. for the cockpit all i did was a drybrush.

chris i had to post this as you are such a mustang fan. i had to have your opinion on my progress. like i said before going to use candy foil it is so much thinner and easier to use. and with what i learned the first time i should have an easier go.

thanks all again for the kind words.

joe

oh My gosh Joe I remember when you were posting about the 30 bro…you were pulling your hair out. WHy do you want to do foil anywyas (sincerely asking). AlcladII gives a top notch finish.

How are you going to finish her, Joe? What scheme?

Fade to Black…

jeff i want to make a better effort than what i did on the 38.

steve i am going to do it as miss marilyn 2. one of the options of the kit decals.

joe

all right joe [sigh] you sure are hard headed determined with the foiling technique![;)][:D] good luck my friend!! i hope everything goes well for you!! if not, could you cook up a steak with the baked potatoe this time!!!LOL[:p] just teasin’ joe, rock on friend. later.

I would say too many! [}:)]
Come on guys, where’s the P-47’s all at?
Now that was a real warbird that could take a licking, unlike that water cooled V-12 Merlin. [:p] [:D] [;)]

Joe,

I agree about using the Alclad as foil is a pain to work with and in my opinion it doesn’t look as good, even if done correctly.

Mike

Movin’ in the right direction, Joe - keep the pictures coming!
Paul

call me stubborn or just a glutten for punishment. but i wasnt satisfied with the finish of the p-38j and i know it can be better. so here we go again. hehehehehehe

joe

ok just a quick update. the od is on and i am starting the nmf.

but pics do more than words.
