Sailing ship Deck construction materal

We have had previous discussions on the color/shade of Teak deck materal.

I was curious as to what other woods were used for decks building on ancient sailing ships . I don"t recall any other wood mentioned.

Thanks

Ralph:

British warships quite often used oak or elm for decks. Prussian deal was used in deck areas not heavily loaded but what it looked like I do not know. Later American ships used pine for decking as well. I have never seen any references to teak outside of clipper ships and the like.
