Hi all.
This was a chalanging build, but happy it is now complete.
Hobbyboss kit, resin bangseat and mostly kit decals with just the castles and some stencling aftermarket decals.
Alclad pollished alluminium over Tamiya gloss black enamel. No clearcoats atall, the decals also needed nothing extra to seal or lay flat.
The model represents the first Mirage 3 cz (#800) to be delivered to the South African Air Force from Dassault in 1963.

I just had a call from a gent who flew this particular plane in France for the SAAF during 1962, just prior to delivery to SA. It must have neen acceptance flight tests. 
He also has loged over a 1000 hours in Canadair Cl 13 Mk6 Sabres for the SAAF, but to get a slatted wing in 1/48 scale is darn hard 
I am trying to build as many SAAF planes and get the crews who flew them to sign the base of the model.
My next project is a 1/72 Canberra Mk12, there should still be a few drivers of them arround.
