I’m starting on this kit and was wondering if it is well balanced or if you need to add any weight to the base?[:)]
From what I’ve read about it, it’s a decent kit. You will probably get a better response on the dark side forum, err, excuse me the target, err ARMOUR forum.
That’s more of an “armor” subject because it tends to shoot down planes! They’ll love it over there! Did you get the kit with the SA-2 on the trailer, or on the launcher? I’ve been very tempted to get one of these “flying telephone poles” myself!
Here are a couple that were entered in our April Mini Contest. Neither of the modelers stated they had to add any weight to the kit.
This is one of those that could go in either. It has a jet engine, it has wings and it leaves the ground. I guess I could do one for my collection, as long as it aint got threads.
Sorry Aircraft dudes when I thought of this question I just figured Well it deals with aircraft so post it there, but then after i thought about it it should have went in to the armor section. Anyway thanks for the help and PHILP those look awesome. Hope i can do as well as they did.
While armor isn’t my cup-of-tea, my local hobby shop had the SA-2 with the transporter/trailer on sale for $34.99, suffice to say I scooped one up. Impressive kit, with a lot of parts. 'Prolly do it up in the Egyptian scheme, to go with the other Mid-East stuff in my case.
Cheers,
Albert [:o)]
I have the kit on the transporter and the base. I didn’t find the need to add any weight, but it will feel much more solid if you do. On hindsight, I kind of wish I had, as it makes it feel much more solid. Would make a nice paperweight.
Mine stands up just fine:
