Oh yeah, the fire bombers are so colorful. I remember seeing a DC-3/C-47 on a diorama base with some smoke jumpers in a readers gallery a while back. I hope you post some pictures. I have been thinking of trying to do one of the O-2A’s they use as FAC’s…I will have to see if I can find any pictures of them anywhere. Does anyone know of aftermarket decals for one of these?

Sweet idea! It’s too bad th military says they won’t provide old airframes for use as slurry bombers anymore…that would be a great plane for it!

From what I gathered in the article I read.
They were hesitant to provide airframes to private contractors. The USFS are the one’s looking at the S-3.
So. Who knows?
