Rusty Ranch - 1/24th Scale

I would like to share with you one of my favorites diorama. It’s called Rusty Ranch.

CONSTRUCTION

AMT – 1949 Mercury Coupe and MAISTO – 1903 Harley Davidson. Customized both vehicles. Also I distressed the balsa wood used on the fences. Entrance gate and mailbox is scratch built using styrene, leafs are mixed herbs. The base is a simple wood photo frame. The display box is made of 3mm crystal acrylic with laser engraved brand.

PAINTING & MARKINGS

First stage is priming with a base coat using aerosol can, then painting mainly with acrylic paint using either Vallejo and Tamiya paints. After base color is dried I use a mix of hairspray + chipped salt to achieve the rusty patina.Rusty patina achieved using acrylics, oils, rust powder pigments.

Hope you all like it. Big Smile

Thank you.

Holy mackerel !! This is amazing. It should be in a museum.

The guys from American Pickers should have it in one of their shops.

Pretty cool,could be anywhere usa.

Great job there on everything, all the little details, the rust, even the ‘glass’ on the car. Super job all around.

You sir, are a master at weathering.

Wow! This is amazing. Not only that…but all the little details that you did. I would like to point out the image showing the broken rear window. That is masterfully done. Then in the same image, take a look at the drivers side rear flat tire, and the weathering done on that. In another image I even see some cobwebs.

Excellent work, sir.

Wonderful!

That is wonderfully done! The weathering is outstanding. If you like critique, the only thing that I could offer is the chain locking the gate seems a little new for the scene, and that is really nitpicking.

Love it. The leaves gathered in the dent on the roof.

Did you also make the vitrine?

Thanks a lot my friend, yes I have built all.

Really well done. I hope you send these pics to Finescale for inclusion in an upcoming issue, as this is magazine-worthy.

Lovely [:)]
