I bought some Verlinden Russian tank ammo and from the photo I thought there would be instructions on painting and markings yet there were none. Can anyone lead me in the right direction for the painting and markings for T55 ammo, HE and AP. Looks like both brass and steel were used for casings and the ends were some type blue for both HE and AP. But I cannot make out anything nor find anything for markings. Thanks ahead for any help.
Hi solilai,
I’m no expert, but since nobody has answered your question, I’ll give it a “shot.”
Using Google, the only pictures I could find are way down at the bottom of this rather odd page…

There are 5 pictures in all…here are the two best ones…
The colors are a bit off. I used Photoshop to clean them up. Here are the results…
Maybe some ammo examples from the T-34 would be helpful. Here are some…

Here’s a really good photo of some SU-100 shells…

Oh, almost forgot…I tweeked the color on the last photo to see if I could get something a bit better for ya…
Hope that helps…good luck with the project.
not too sure, I am building a large scale t34 and at work we have used the same ammo illustrations that colo-artist gave you as reference to produce decals, with this system you will need a mac computer but we may be able to mail you our templates, dont worry ours are original produced by us and owned by us, but i think colo-artist has set you on the right direction.

Hi Terry,
I don’t know about Solilai, but I’d sure like a copy of your templates. Oh, and I do have a Mac.
Thanks and take care.

Since I asked some time ago I found a place in Canada with GREAT ammo. Here is a link www.airconnection.on.ca Choose the Hussar icon and look at some of the ammo and parts. Nice stuff.
